Valspar Championship Moving to May in 2027

The Valspar Championship, Tampa Bay’s PGA TOUR event, is moving to May in 2027 according to official dates provided by the PGA TOUR. The competition rounds will be May 6-9 with the final round to be contested on Mother’s Day.

There are a lot of moving parts involved with creating the PGA TOUR schedule,” said Tournament Director Tracy West. “When we look at the all of the tournaments involved, we feel good about this move. Our date is favorable for us to continue to attract a very strong field and falls before the brunt of the summer weather. We had a similar date in 2021 with no major hitches. We are confident that we can continue to have a top flight event in May.”

Matt Fitzpatrick, who has risen to fourth in the current Official World Golf Ranking is expected to defend his title on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort after winning by one shot on March 22 this year.
