Valspar Championship Delivers $1.64 Million for Charity!

The 2026 Valspar Championship generated $1.64 million for Tampa Bay area charities, the tournament announced this week in conjunction with their “Paint The Town Positive” Charity Caravan, which incorporated visits to some of the nearly 100 benefiting charities in the Tampa Bay area. Copperhead Charities, the tournament’s host organization, has now generated more than $54 million since 1977.
The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay in Tampa by General Chair Rondé Barber, Tournament Director Tracy West and former Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden. The Humane Society is a favorite charity of Gruden and, with his help, a donation of more than $10,000 was made to its work with homeless and at-risk animals.
“We were excited to team with Jon – aka @barstoolGruden – at our new fan engagement area The Turn and with the help of his in-kind donation of merchandise we were able to raise money for the Humane Society,” says Barber. “It is the kind of partnership we have with many of our charities and this week we get to see the charities at work and meet the people who help our community every day.”
The total of $1.64 million raised is nearly identical to the amount generated by the 2025 tournament.
“There were some changes to our business model this year that made things more challenging,” says West. “So we are thrilled to be able to essentially match our totals for the last few years. So many people contributed to what we were able to do this week, starting with the 150,000 fans who attended the tournament, our nearly 400 sponsors and our 2,000 volunteers. It was a team effort and it is the highlight of our year to make these distributions.”
Matt Fitzpatrick won the 2026 Valspar Championship on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook which concluded on March 22. The 2027 edition of the tournament will be moving to May, with a final round on May 9.
