Justin Thomas and Patrick Reed, both members of the Official World Golf Ranking top 10, have committed to the Valspar Championship. Along with Dustin Johnson, the tournament now has the top two players in the OWGR and four of the top eight (also #8 Tyrell Hatton).
Thomas, who won his 14th PGA TOUR title four weeks ago at THE PLAYERS Championship, is currently #2 in the OWGR. Expected to be a member of his second U.S. Ryder Cup this summer, Thomas won the PGA Championship in 2017. Thomas last played in the Valspar Championship in 2017, but he was 10th in 2015 and 18th in 2016.
Reed, now 7th in the OWGR, returns with a strong record on the Copperhead including runnerup finishes in 2015 and 2018. He has nine PGA TOUR wins, most recently the Farmers Insurance Open in January.
The tournament field currently features 18 of the top 50 players in the OWGR. Brooks Koepka, who previously had committed to the tournament, has withdrawn.
Tickets for the Valspar Championship are currently available for all four tournament days (April 29-May 2) at ValsparChampionship.com (They are limited due to COVID-19 concerns and some days could sell out in the near future).
