Tampa Bay Lightning Announce New Partnership With Valspar

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be teaming up with the Valspar Corporation and the Valspar Championship, an official PGA TOUR tournament, for a unique series of community-driven programs within the region.

“The Lightning are very excited about this partnership and continue to look forward to growing our relationship in years to come” said Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment CEO Tod Leiweke.

The partnership will be inaugurated today, when both organizations come together and partake in the first of four local Habitat for Humanity restoration projects. The work will include painting, landscaping, and building for each home.

“We are thrilled to have the Tampa Bay Lightning join our support of Habitat for Humanity to help bring decent, safe and affordable housing to low-income families,” said Kimberly A. Welch, VP Communications, Valspar Corporation and President of The Valspar Foundation.

The Lightning and Valspar will also be kicking-off a new initiative for its young fans this year called the ‘Paint The Ice’ project. Kids will be invited to a full-day event this spring to paint their masterpieces on the ice of the team’s hometown rink. Local family charities dear to the Lightning Foundation and Valspar will benefit from the event.
