PUBLIX COPPERHEAD 5K KICKS OFF WEEK

The 2023 Valspar Championship will kick off with the Publix Copperhead 5K, a family-friendly run-walk, hosted by former Buccaneers All-Pro Rondé Barber, on Sunday, March 12, 7:30 a.m. Participants will make their way on a special route across the tournament’s Copperhead Course just a few hours before the PGA TOUR pros take over for the Valspar Championship.

The Publix Copperhead 5K will be fully-timed with awards – and a post-race party at the 17th hole Snake Pit Club.

Registration Includes:

• Chipped timing bib
• Official race shirt (available in men’s or women’s sizes)
• Custom finisher’s medal
• Access to the post-race party
• Entry into a drawing for 4 Valspar Championship tickets on Saturday, March 18th including post-golf Darius Rucker concert
• Opportunity to purchase discounted grounds tickets to the Valspar Championship

All proceeds from the Publix Copperhead 5K will go to benefit Copperhead Charities.

“This has been a very popular event for us,” says Tournament Director Tracy West, “that unfortunately was cancelled due to COVID. We are thrilled to be able to have it return in 2023, with our wonderful friends and title sponsor Publix. For the first time, we are able to have this event in the morning.”

“Tiki and I have enjoyed this event in the past,” says Rondé referring to his brother,” although he beats me in the 5K. But then, I get him in golf. At the front of the race, it is competitive, but a good number of the entrants enjoy it as just a good hour of exercise in a particularly beautiful location. I’d love to see a big crowd of participants to help re-launch this fun tournament week kickoff event.”
