Justin Thomas, who will be defending his PGA Championship title in May, has committed to the upcoming Valspar Championship (March 16-19).
Thomas returns after tying for third at the 2022 Valspar, one shot out of a playoff. He has called the Copperhead Course one of his favorite on the PGA TOUR and has four top 20 finishes in five career starts at the event.
Thomas, 29, has won 15 times on the PGA TOUR, including the PGA Championship in 2017 and 2022 and the THE PLAYERS Championship in 2021. He was the PGA TOUR Player of the Year in 2017 and 2020 and has played on five US international teams as a professional (3 Presidents Cup, 2 Ryder Cup).
J.T. is currently ranked 9th in the Official World Golf Ranking. He will be joined at The Valspar by his good friend Jordan Spieth (3 Major Championships, OWGR #17) and Sam Burns (OWGR #14, Valspar winner in 2021 and 2022) among other top professionals.
“Jordan, J.T. and Sam are three of the best American players in the world. They all have had exceptional results at the Valspar Championship in the past, and we are thrilled they are rejoining us on the Copperhead,” says Tournament Director Tracy West. “We are hopeful of adding some more strong names in the two weeks remaining before the commitment deadline.”
