The 2025 Valspar Championship generated $1.64 million for 100 Tampa Bay area charities, the tournament announced this week in conjunction with their “Paint The Town Positive” Charity Caravan, which incorporated visits to a dozen area benefitting charities. Copperhead Charities, the tournament’s host organization, has now generated nearly $53 million since 1977.
“Once again, this has been a week that has truly brought home the message about why we do this,” says Rondé Barber, Co-General Chair of the tournament who personally visited many of the charities with Co-Chair John Astrab. “The people we met who operate these charities are inspiring and their clients are so grateful. The organizations span many areas, including medical, youth, veterans, educational and others. We hope everyone will check out our social media to learn more about our beneficiaries.”
“So many people contributed to what we were able to do this week, starting with the 140,000 fans who attended the tournament, our nearly 400 sponsors and our 2,000 volunteers” says Tournament Director Tracy West. “Many of our Board of Directors and other Copperheads, along with our staff members, made these visits. It only left us wanting to be able to do more in the future and fired us up to produce an even more successful tournament in 2026.”
The week-long PGA TOUR event concluded on March 23, with Viktor Hovland claiming victory on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor.
