Why should I volunteer at the Valspar Championship?

Volunteers play an integral role in the success of our tournament. Volunteering at the Valspar Championship provides the unique experience of being behind-the-scenes of a PGA TOUR event. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, gain new insight into PGA TOUR golf, and have fun!

Volunteering for this event is a great way to give back, and if that’s not enough, check out the volunteer amenities:

• Volunteer badge (credential) providing access to the tournament all week when the event is open to the public

How do I become a volunteer?

I volunteered last year; do I need to register again for this year?

Yes, even if you completed registration and volunteered for the Valspar Championship in a previous year, you will need to complete a new registration for the upcoming 2022 tournament.

Is there an age requirement to volunteer?

The Valspar Championship requires volunteers to be thirteen (13) years old at the time of the tournament. Competition Support volunteers must be (18) years old.

Why is there a Registration Fee to volunteer?

Tournaments under the PGA TOUR are not-for-profit organizations run with the intention to donate net proceeds from the event to local charities. The volunteer registration fee allows the tournament to off-set many volunteer expenses, thus providing a greater benefit to these charities. Your volunteerism is a gift to our community in more ways than one!

How will I know what committee I am on and what shifts I am assigned to?

You can check the status of your registration and all scheduling details (as they become available) by clicking the button and logging into your volunteer account. Shift assignments likely will not be available until mid-late February.

How long can I expect the shifts to be?

Volunteer shifts will vary in length depending on your assigned committee. Shifts can range anywhere from four (4) to twelve (12) hours. For specific information about a given committee, please be sure to check the committee descriptions, here.

I registered as a volunteer, but am no longer able to work due to an emergency, etc. Can I get a refund?

Should a volunteer be unable to fulfill their obligations due to unforseen circumstances, the tournament can provide a refund. No refunds after February 18, 2022.

What is the Volunteer Uniform?

As part of your Volunteer uniform package, you will receive a Valspar Championship Callaway Dri-Fit golf shirt and Valspar Championship headwear (baseball cap or visor). Additionally, volunteers for the 2022 tournament will receive a Valspar Championship Levelwear jacket.
The provided uniform items (golf shirt, headwear & jacket, as needed) should be worn for each shift you work, along with your badge, khaki bottoms (pants, capris, shorts or skort) and comfortable, close-toe shoes.

When and where do I pick up my Uniform and Credentials?

Pick up will be scheduled for the first weekend of March 2022 at Innisbrook Resort. Official dates and times will be provided closer to the event.

What if I am from out-of-state and cannot pick up my uniform and badge during the designated pick up time(s)?

While we highly encourage all volunteers to pick up their uniform and credentials during the designated pick up days and times, volunteers who are unable to do so will have the opportunity to pick up at Volunteer Headquarters instead.
Volunteer Headquarters is located at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (1700 Klosterman Rd) and will be open 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Sunday of tournament week.

When and where do I pick up my Uniform and Credentials?

Where do I park for my shift? Is Handicap Parking available?

Yes, Handicap parking is available in volunteer lots. Volunteer parking is available in two locations:
Volunteer Headquarters (Pleasant Valley Baptist Church)
1700 Klosterman Rd
Palm Harbor, FL 34683

Peach Lot
1210 US Highway 19 N
Holiday, FL 24691

Shuttles from each parking lot run continuously throughout the day to bring you to and from the golf course.

What training can I expect to receive for my role?

A general training for all volunteers will take place prior to the event, however additional training will vary depending on your assigned committee. This information will be communicated by your committee chair.

Where do I put my belongings during my volunteer shift? What should I bring with me?

There is no designated area for volunteers to leave their belongings during shifts. We recommend you keep only what is needed on your person. Cell phones are allowed on tournament grounds but must be silenced.

Are meals provided? Is there a designated place I can go to enjoy my lunch/break or grab water?

Yes, volunteers will receive a meal voucher that can be used at concessions throughout the course, which include an entrée, snack and beverage. Additionally, there will be three (3) Volunteer Oasis tents located strategically throughout the course where you will have access to a selection of grab-and-go snacks and drinks.

I would like to volunteer with a friend. How do I make sure we volunteer at the same time?

During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to indicate if you would like to volunteer with someone else. Please be sure to select the same committee preferences, shift availability, and indicate the first and last name of your friend in the area provided.

Is there any additional information I should keep in mind regarding my time at the Valspar Championship?
