Tournament Update - Tuesday
PRO-AM HEADLINES WEDNESDAY AT THE TAMPA BAY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY EVERBANK
With Tuesday’s practice rounds in the books, the Tampa Bay Championship presented by EverBank turns to Wednesday’s Pro-Am that begins at 7:45 a.m. when two former champions, Carl Pettersson (2005) and Luke Donald (2012) tee off with their amateur partners on the 1st and 10th tees respectively.
In addition to 50 of the top pros in the field, the Pro-Am features five notable athletes in other sports. They are:
Hall of Fame former Redskins cornerback Darrell Green at 9:45 with Vijay Singh
Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt at 12:50 with Retief Goosen
Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels at 1:00 with Jonas Blixt
Former Lightning captain Dave Andreychuk at 1:50 with Erik Compton
Buccaneers defensive back Ronde Barber on 10 at 2:20 with Charlie Beljan
Special guests of the tournament in the Pro-Am are Wounded Heroes Army Specialist Maury Collett, Marine Infantryman Alexander Kelly, and SSGT Michael Winters who go off the 10th tee at 1:00 with pro Matt Every. On Tuesday, the trio received a custom club fitting from Callaway Golf through Birdies for the Brave.
PGA TOUR pros George McNeill and Brian Harman will visit The First Tee at Chi Chi Academy at 3 p.m. on Wednesday for a clinic with the students.

The fourth spot in the Monday Open qualifier was actually decided on Tuesday when a playoff was resumed and it went to David Skinns.
There were two sets of changes in the field on Tuesday. Scott Verplank and Steve Marino withdrew. Jim Herman and Eric Meierdierks moved into the field from the alternate list.

Admission to the Copperhead Course is $10 for Wednesday’s Pro-Am.
Kids 15 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Active and retired military with a valid common access card are admitted free.
