The first event is in the books as Valspar Championship Week kicked off with a festive St. Patrick’s Day crowd of 650 participating in the Veterans Alternative 5K on Sunday afternoon. All of the participants received a certificate for Valspar Paint, a medal and an exceptional post-race party in the expanded Benchmark International Club at the 17th green. Michael Nasuta of Palm Harbor was first across the finish line while Reese Small led the female participants.
